These casseroles can be used in the oven.  But they don’t like drastic temperature changes.  You need to start with a cool oven and let the piece warm up with the food and adjust the cooking time accordingly.   Do not put on a cold counter right out of the oven because that can also cause cracking.  If you treat your casserole well, it will give you years of use.
